The secret of the oil swab is one of the church secrets that allows all people to meet God as a saviour at all stages of their lives, and appoint them to realize in their selves the integrity of the image of God’s only Son. A human being who becomes, for example, a son of God in baptism remains called upon to follow the master and be with him at all moments of his life… In his childhood and old age, in his joy and grief, in his wellness and if he is burdened by worries or exhausted by diseases… In this context, the Church grants the secret of sacred oil to the believers to indicate God’s living and living presence with his waiting people his help and mercy. It is concerned with every disease, however difficult it may be, and always based on the hope of healing.
